About My Clients
Do you find yourself constantly putting yourself down? Have you found yourself unable to make any decisions without being overwhelmed, worrying if you will ever get it right? I know what you are feeling: lack of energy, motivation, or interest, or lying awake restless. These feelings can make you feel alone and helpless, and my goal for you is to find a better solution to overcome these emotions. Through a holistic approach, you will learn effective tools to take authority in your life.
My Background and Approach
I am a trauma therapist which means I look at behaviors and patterns from a trauma lens. I received training and experience from working with adolescents in therapeutic foster care agencies and the juvenile justice system. I also trained and collaborated with psychiatry residents and clinicians at Grady Memorial Hospital Crisis Intervention Unit. I understand that each client is different and I tailor all of my sessions based on the individual's needs. My personal belief is that what we feed our bodies, mind, and spirit directly impact one's ability to live out our true potential. My clients are college students and young adults who are trying to navigate life with depression and anxiety. Many of those concerns lead them to cope in maladaptive ways and when we begin our client and-therapist relationship, my goal is to not be judgemental but to meet them where they are. My role is to help my clients unlearn patterns that have been setbacks and teach them more effective methods to cope.
