About My Clients
I specialize in working with people who are looking to explore their identity and learn new ways to heal. I enjoy working with clients through anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and trauma. Having experience in music, I also aim to integrate clients' artistic side into therapy. I collaborate with my clients to uncover the path to living as their most authentic self. Topics we could explore include relationship dynamics, navigating mental health concerns in a quickly evolving world.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in a variety of settings, including community mental health, skilled nursing facilities, and residential treatment centers. As such, I had the honor of working with clients from various walks of life and across the lifespan. I provide treatment utilizing primarily relational psychodynamic theory and DBT skills. This means we will use grounding techniques to help us explore and rewrite the stories we have been taught through our past relationships. I aim to get to the root of your problems in the comfort of a warm and open space. By tapping into your creative side and sprinkling in humor, we can work together to unleash your most authentic self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a Latine therapist, I understand that global issues can take a toll on the mental health of affected communities. I also want to fill in the gap of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ clinicians, providing clients with a sense of safety and adding to the representation in the field. In our work together, I will hold space to process emotions around the issues impacting you. I strive to help groups experiencing various levels of oppression, including groups impacted by ableism, classism, racism, homophobia, and transphobia. While I do not work from a specific faith, I can incorporate a client's spiritual and religious beliefs into their treatment.
