About My Clients
I love working with individuals, couples, and families who prioritize and want deeper connection to themselves and others, even when that work can be vulnerable and challenging. I enjoy clients who are open to reflection and change, and are engaged in the therapeutic process. I support and encourage clients in embracing the multitudes of their authentic self.
My Background and Approach
Throughout life, unhelpful patterns, societal messages, trauma and oppressive systems may have promoted disconnection within yourself, in your relationships, and to nature. In sessions, I strive to guide you to a deeper understanding of yourself, your patterns and influences, so that you can move forward with more clarity and agency. I believe that through reflection, insight, and deepening connections both within ourselves and with others, we can achieve healing and more preferred possibilities. I aim to create a collaborative environment, grounded in warmth and compassion. I have a Master's Degree in Marriage, Family, and Couples Therapy from Lewis & Clark Graduate School. In addition, I have a specialty certification in Ecopsychology. I primarily draw from Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Ecotherapy. Attending therapy is a vulnerable and courageous act, and I feel honored to be able to hold space for you as we embark on this journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a biracial Asian-American woman, I have observed how my intersecting identities have shaped relational power dynamics. I bring a systemic perspective, which takes into consideration issues of equity and justice. I value and look forward to working with individuals and families of all identities and configurations, including the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. I graduated from Cornell University's school of Hospitality Administration, and my first career was in luxury spa management. Quickly I realized that I wanted to step away from the management side and have a more intimate role in people's healing. I spent ten years after this working as a Licensed Massage Therapist. In this time, I also co-founded a farmed animal sanctuary. Currently as a therapist, I see that I have always been drawn to work that is about healing, empathy, and connection. I am honored to do this work.
