About My Clients

Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or unsure why certain patterns keep repeating in their lives or relationships. Some are new to therapy and unsure where to begin, while others have tried therapy before but want deeper, more meaningful work. Clients often describe feeling anxious, self-critical, disconnected, or exhausted from holding things together. They are looking for a supportive space to slow down, feel understood, and make sense of their experiences.

My Background and Approach

My approach is trauma-informed and attachment-focused, with an emphasis on collaboration and pacing. I work with adolescents and adults, many of whom are new to therapy or unsure what to expect. Sessions are structured yet flexible, allowing space to explore current concerns while also understanding the emotional patterns and experiences that contribute to ongoing distress. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, I help clients build awareness of their emotional responses, relationships, and internal dynamics, supporting insight and skill development over time. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and psychodynamic work, tailoring treatment based on each client’s goals, needs, and readiness. The focus of treatment is to support meaningful, sustainable change while maintaining a calm, non-overwhelming therapeutic process.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe our earliest relationships shape how we feel, connect, and cope throughout life. Early in my education, I was involved in attachment-based research with vulnerable mothers and infants, which deepened my understanding of how powerful early connection and intervention can be. In my work with adults, I often see how early attachment wounds show up later as anxiety, relationship struggles, or feeling emotionally disconnected. I believe healing is possible at any stage, and that safety, insight, and new relational experiences in therapy can create lasting change. I also value supporting parents as they reflect on how their own histories influence the way they show up in relationships and caregiving. I am committed to increasing access to mental health care and am an active member of NASW and a supporter of the the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
