About My Clients
My ideal client is one who is ready to face truths and set and achieve goals. True change begins inside of you with the willingness to do the work. Counseling is a journey tailored to you and your needs and I would love to walk alongside you on your path toward becoming the best version of yourself.
My Background and Approach
As a military spouse, I am familiar with struggles that accompany life both as a civilian and within the military community and the toll that the military culture can have upon family members. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor approved by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council, Lic. No. 86671. I graduated from Liberty University Online where I earned my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty’s CACREP accredited graduate program. Also from Liberty University Online, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Military Resilience with hopes of serving military personnel and first responders. I have experience in working with people from various backgrounds dealing with various mental/emotional health issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, personality disorders, and psychosis. When first starting out with a new client, I always begin with client-centered therapy to focus on building rapport and collaboration.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In expressing my personal beliefs, I would like to share with you one of my favorite quotes from Epictetus who said, "It is not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters". This empowering quote encourages shift of focus from the story to the choice that everyone has in writing the next chapter. My goal is to provide empathy and a sense of understanding and acceptance to everyone that I work with. I believe that everyone is deserving of feeling seen, heard, and accepted in a safe, comfortable place where they may experience personal/professional healing and growth.
