About My Clients
Do you struggle with repetitive behavior, relationship and mood patterns? Have you tried will power, discipline, self-help, coping skills and talking to loved ones without any or poor results? Do you at times feel hopelessly stuck in any of these patterns?
My Background and Approach
As a bilingual, bicultural professional psychotherapist with more than 10 years of experience, I can help you identify the mechanisms that keep distressing life patterns in place. In addition to using a psychodynamic framework, which addresses unconscious material, I incorporate other modalities that have been proven effective. I have experience in the following evidence based practices: I have years of training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which uses mindfulness practices to improve interpersonal relationships, increase distress tolerance and promote emotional regulation. I work from an attachment based framework using Circle of Security and Theraplay to strengthen parent-child relationship and promote family cohesiveness. I use an Emotionally Focused approach with couples to create a safe space to explore, express co-regulate and transformation of emotion.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Another one of my passions is working with POC; as a Latinx first generation professional I want to reduce the stigma around mental health still experienced in BIPOC communities. Another one of my passions is fostering rescue animals, help finding the homes and donating as frequently as I can to rescue animal shelters.
