About My Clients

I like to work with individuals who are experiencing something that has derailed them from feeling safe, secure and happy with their life's goals or plan. I have experience working with the following populations: Anxiety, ADHD, Anger Management, Coping Skills, Chronic Illness, Chronic pain, Depression, Developmental Disorders, Self-Esteem, Body-Positivity, Dementia, Grief, Geriatric clients, Relationship issues, Women's issues, Stress, Sleep problems, Sexual issues, Caregivers, and more.

My Background and Approach

I graduated with my MSW from University of Denver in 1992. I have practiced in multiple states, and am currently licensed at the highest level in Arizona. I like to start by meeting with my client to see where they are at in this moment. We would talk about what brought you to therapy, what is going on that is bothering you and what your goals might be. At this point I will use a blend of a few different treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Coaching, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths Based Therapy, Family Systems, DBT, Positive Psychology and Person-Centered Therapy. I will only use methods that are well researched and have evidence-based outcomes behind them. No one person is alike, so my treatment methods will vary with each individual. I share my treatment thoughts with my clients allowing them to have a lot of input into their own treatment plan. I believe in a warm and safe therapeutic environment.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that our experiences impact the person that we are today. Not all of life's experiences are positive, and that should not be a barrier in living a fulfilling life. I seek to help others to find some type of meaning in their experiences so they can grow from them. I am someone who believes that we are all important and we all have amazing stories to share with each other. I actively advocate for those who are being discriminated against in my ongoing goal of a better future for all of us. I self-describe as a woman, survivor, ally, parent, peer, wife, sibling, child, advocate, and pragmatic hopeful. I subscribe to the believe that all are welcome and all are cherished in my practice.
