About My Clients

I specialize in helping people through important life transitions: adolescent issues, relationships, college/career planning, women's issues, loss, blended families, and the young adult experience. I have extensive experience as a counselor in a comprehensive high school for students of varying financial backgrounds, cultures, learning abilities, and mental health needs. I logged 300+ hours on a crisis hotline and have helped hundreds of people create personalized safety plans.

My Background and Approach

I work from a place of compassion and realism, and we will move at your pace toward the changes you seek. I am happy to be your sounding board and will always support your best interests. I am passionate about racial and social justice and equity. I am also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor using specialized knowledge to help people with disabilities. The best therapeutic relationships are based on trust and mutual respect. I am adept at finding that common ground and helping clients feel secure in sharing their struggles and fears. I use a strengths-based perspective to help clients recognize their unique potential and identify the changes that are in their control. With this information, clients can enact real change to improve their lives.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I offer a safe space for persons who are marginalized or experience discrimination in all its forms. I'm an advocate for those that often go unheard - children, animals, elderly, economically disadvanteged, etc. I am a feminist and I believe in equal rights and pay for all. I make it a point to utilize my privelege to help others. Diversity and inclusion are not just buzz words to me, I am an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and a Black Lives Matter advocate.
