About My Clients

My Background and Approach
As humans, our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are complex. I utilize Psychodynamic theory which honors the complexity of your history and recognizes that you feel and think the way you do for a reason. Difficult situations and disappointments arose during your earliest, most formative years. You coped the best you could and laid down patterns deep in your brain. These patterns are not easily changed without intentional and skilled guidance. Psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on gaining insight into how you learned to cope with difficulty very early in life and on creating experiential opportunities to lay down new patterns of response. Research shows that psychodynamic psychotherapy facilitates change that endures and even continues to build after therapy ends. *I work with clients at a minimum frequency of once per week. Meeting consistently and frequently allows for increased depth and effectiveness in our work together and decreases the total amount of time in treatment.*
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all humans are inherently marvelous and worthy of respect, support, and empowerment. Many of us, however, have not been afforded spaces to show up just as we are without judgment. Therefore, it is a top priority of my practice to welcome and make space for the totality of you.
