About My Clients

In your healing era, but stuck on how to move forward? Feel guilty prioritizing yourself? Plagued by a critical inner voice? From the outside, you look composed and professional. On the inside, you struggle with stress, self-doubt, and the fear of not being good enough. We’ll explore the origins of why you feel stuck and learn ways to quiet your inner critic, increase self-esteem and confidence, respond to stress in ways that you feel good about, and set boundaries to improve your relationships.

My Background and Approach

I have been providing mental health services since 2010. Prior to beginning my own practice, I worked in a variety of mental health settings, including hospital-based outpatient mental health, group private practice, community mental health, college psychology clinic, inpatient psychiatric unit, and VA Hospitals in MN and NY. By integrating evidence-based therapy interventions with a client-centered approach, I combine my 10+ years of skills and knowledge with your stated needs and preferences to create a therapeutic environment tailored just for you. Therapy with me is nonjudgmental and genuine; crying, laughing, and swearing are all equally welcome in our therapy space. I bring my authentic self to the relationship and that is my hope for you, too. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally, neurodivergent-affirming, and work in a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed manner. I want clients to feel understood and safe, allowing you to step out of your comfort zone to embrace growth and change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Our appointments together will be growth-oriented, skills-focused, and collaborative. I will likely ask you to complete assignments outside of our sessions to practice using the evidence-based interventions that we discuss. After all, most of life happens outside of our therapy space! I view therapy as a partnership. We will work together to identify, celebrate, and grow your innate strengths while learning new strategies to feel confident overcoming challenges. I believe therapy doesn’t need to last forever; my aim is to help you reach your goals and teach you the coping strategies to start living the life you want. When I’m not working, I enjoy making pottery, caring for my indoor plant jungle, visiting National Parks, and spending time with family. I also have two cats who occasionally join my sessions and would love to meet you!
