About My Clients
I have worked with diverse populations, from new moms and dads to hospice patients, home health caregivers to homeless veterans, intuitive eating and anti-diet clients to active duty military. No matter the population, I find myself helping people through life transitions. I am humbled by the trust placed in me and honored to bear witness to the stories and experiences of my clients.
My Background and Approach
I practice from a variety of theoretical frameworks, drawing on aspects of Cognitive-Behavioral and Psychodynamic approaches through a trauma-informed lens. This involves identifying and challenging present thought patterns and resultant behaviors, while also looking deeper to how intergenerational trauma, past experiences and the subconscious might be playing a part in ones situation. I offer positive, respectful, gentle parenting insights that are evidence-based and attachment-supportive for fellow parents. As a military spouse, for 12 years I have lived through separations, PCS moves and deployments. I have participated in family readiness programs as a spouse and supported military families as a social worker. I completed a masters-level military social work sub-concentration at USC.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am strengths-based and person-centered. Social workers consider a client in the context of their environment and the many systems to which they belong. This allows us to be resourceful, looking outside the therapy office into a client’s lived experience. Like so many other social workers, I bring this unique training and perspective to my therapy practice.
