About My Clients
I enjoy working with clients who are suffering from anxiety and depression and who are seeking to heal from challenging childhoods. Many of my clients did not have secure attachments to their caregivers and seek support to heal from those wounds. I also enjoy working with couples to help them improve communication and trust. In addition, I focus on young adults who are seeking guidance in navigating their new stage of life, and who are wanting to grow more confident in their new environments.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 9 years of experience, primarily with gender-based violence. My approach is warm, person-centered, and I operate from a Holistic/Integrative approach. Everyone comes to therapy with their own individual story and life experiences, and I seek to individualize our sessions based upon your unique journey. I utilize techniques from Compassion-focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, but am open to engaging with other therapeutic techniques if it better serves the client’s situation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that strength, peace and resiliency are within reach for every one of my clients, no matter their histories. It is crucial for therapists to take into account the way our interactions with society have shaped our experiences, especially those who are members of marginalized communities.
