About My Clients
If your child is struggling with peer relationships, school functioning, or behavior, I can help provide your child with tools to help face the modern world, solve problems, and gain an arsenal of coping skills to use as they encounter challenges. I can also help you as their parents gain more knowledge of positive parenting and positive reinforcement. Regardless of age, if you're experiencing struggles with trauma, anxiety, depression or anger, I can help you.
My Background and Approach
I have been a school psychologist for over 20 years and am now completing my PsyD and building a private practice as a registered psychological associate. I am trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy which is an evidence-based practice for many problems, including anxiety and depression, in addition to PTSD. I also am interested in mindfulness practices, solution focused therapy, and will become certified in EMDR over the summer months of 2023. I also am great and helping with behavior problems in children and adolescents and can provide telehealth and in person services. I also am a very skilled assessor and can conduct psychological assessment, independent psychoeducational evaluations, and have set fees for those activities that differ from my hourly fee for counseling. I also am passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ and ENM/Poly community.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe all problems can be tackled one at a time by reflecting on our thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and building our set of coping skills to use. I strongly feel that all of us, regardless of heritage, race, sexual or gender identity, socio-economic level, or background deserve equality, respect, and equal treatment.
