About My Clients
I work with clients aged 6 years to 70 individually, within families and soon I will launch a grief therapy group. Specific issues I have knowledge treating include anxiety, depression, grief over loss, low self-worth, eating disorders, negative body image and interpersonal issues within families and intimate relationships. I am in the process of learning about NPD in order to help victims of narcissistic abuse and neglect to heal and end those patterns of abuse.
My Background and Approach
I have acquired skills from the ACT, CBT & DBT frameworks since 2007 and use strength-based perspectives when treating individuals with low self-worth. Sessions typically run for an hour (50 minutes) and begin by checking in the first 5-10 minutes, then decide with the client what the remainder of the session will address collaboratively. Talk therapy is also provided when clients feel the need to release negative energy within their body. I provide empathy and validation in every session, no matter what the topic is.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal belief is that every individual is born with beauty within, potential to live their most worthwhile life and that balance and resilience can be gained when we feel encouraged, supported and seen without judgment or bias. I love this field because I had much of these same benefits I offer now to clients, when I was an adolescent and young adult. Counseling is a way of life and can help us maintain stability, purpose and quality of life. Today is a good day to embrace help to make your life as good as it can be!
