About My Clients
In my work, I bring humor, empathy, and a down-to-earth approach. My life experience has taken me across the world, and I bring a cultural perspective that lends itself to thinking outside the box. None of us walk through life without experiencing difficulty and hardship at some point. It can be difficult to reach out for help. We naturally avoid discomfort and pain, but this often leads to more pain and longer healing time. Walking this path with someone can create safety and trust.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Tennessee. I received my Master of Science from Capella University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I also have a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy. I utilize a Humanistic, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Person-Centered approach. Therapy doesn't have to be complicated! I remind my clients that they are a valued human being worthy of a good quality of life. I strive to meet my clients where they are at, to make connections within oneself, and to shift negativity into workability. Reframing thoughts, changing behaviors, and facing fears are all a part of my wheelhouse. I am a passionate advocate for women, and specialize in treating fertility challenges, miscarriage and loss, perinatal mood disorders, and motherhood/ parental transitions. Additionally, I enjoy working with adolescents and young adults, and am experienced in with treating eating disorders, anxiety, and depression.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Women's issues are often undervalued, and as a population, women can feel unheard and unseen. Advocacy for women is my passion, and I strive to create a safe place for women to explore, heal, and grow through therapeutic work.
