I have extensive experience utilizing a cognitive behavioral approach, as a large focus of my training and practice in a clinical setting was on empirically validated therapies (CBT being one of them). There is overwhelming evidence suggesting that CBT is highly efficacious in treating anything from mild anxiety to more resistant mood and personality disorders, and as such, I utilize it often in practice and keep abreast of emerging research on it.

In my clinical work with co-occurring disorder populations, I have drawn from a psychodynamic framework to great success. This simply means exploring one's struggles and how they tend to repeat or consistently present in a variety of contexts. It is often deeply rooted patterns that one is not even aware of that may be the cause of struggles and dissatisfaction in life. In my work, I seek to deconstruct these repetitive experiences and replace them with healthy patterns of behavior and coping.

I have a deep well of knowledge related to couples/marital counseling, family strife, and interpersonal dynamics. A large part of my clinical work involved facilitating Family/Relationship Dynamics group therapy as well as a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy group to teach interpersonal coping mechanisms and skills for healthy social functioning.

I have a variety of experience working with those suffering from mild to more severe forms of anxiety, as well as those dealing with anxiety related to secondary mental health issues (agoraphobia, OCD, substance abuse, trauma, personality/mood disorders, etc).

I offer individual counseling as well as couples/family counseling, and have a true passion for helping those confronting relationship issues (or those simply looking to strengthen their partnerships). With a background in group therapy, I have an intimate understanding of how interpersonal dynamics are often a reflection of deeper, internal struggles we may face.
