About My Clients
I provide therapy for when you're overwhelmed, anxious or seeking perfection and falling short. It's easy to be hard on ourselves when we're high-achieving and perfectionistic. When we don't measure up to this unattainable standard, we feel we've failed! It impacts our self-worth. In my practice, I aim to help you feel more balanced as you explore who you are and what you expect from yourself and your life.
My Background and Approach
My approach focuses on reducing anxiety through self-acceptance. I work with you to understand what you control and what is ultimately outside of your control. In my practice, I want you to feel safe, relaxed and authentically yourself. Life is complicated. Our bodies, minds, and relational worlds are connected in ways both seen and unseen. I am a counselor because I believe that as we come to understand ourselves and our backgrounds, we are better able to cope with the many challenges of life. I am trained in EMDR therapy, a modality that can help you to emotionally process traumas and wounds of the past, and address current trigger points. I obtained my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio, my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Oregon, and I am fully licensed to practice counseling by the state of Texas (Licensed Professional Counselor License #82294).
