About My Clients
I welcome anyone who is wanting to make a change in their lives. I am most passionate about helping the helpers, the strong ones, the ones that everyone else depends on. This includes professionals like healthcare workers, first responders, teachers &educators as well as men/masc folks & caregivers. I also enjoy helping those who are finding or redefining themselves, what they want in their lives, and how they want to show up in the world like college students, early career, or in a life change.
My Background and Approach
I'm a LCPCC (conditionally licensed mental health counselor under supervision), BCBA (board certified behavioral analyst), and NCC (nationally certified counselor). I have an alphabet soup of letters after my name that let you know I've been in a lot of different helping roles (and a couple different careers) Now I'm an "integrated" or "eclectic" counselor. In plain English, I’m adaptable to you. I intentionally pick components from different therapeutic modalities (ex. focusing on emotions, thoughts, behaviors, your internal story, your physical experience, your inner parts, your values) so that my approach, interventions, and treatment plan are customized to you, who you are & how you interact with the world, what might work best for you, and what you want to be working on. TI provide counseling that fits all of you, rather than making you fit into a particular counseling paradigm.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a firm believer in showing up to support the individual, especially those with marginalized identities. In a counseling session, this means suspending my beliefs, stepping outside of my values, and sometimes even leaving my comfort zone because what matters in the counseling room is you. Your identity, your lived experience, your values, and your reality. This is your time to feel supported, and my role is to learn to walk with you in your world even as I help to hold up a mirror so you can identify blind spots or encounter a new perspective. Am I perfect at this? Absolutely not, and my awareness is an ongoing project.
