About My Clients
As a Pakistani Muslim American, I strive to de-stigmatize mental health in the Muslim and Asian diasporas. I’m particularly interested in providing access to therapy for boys and men of color. I have a growing expertise in issues of identity development, societal injustices, and racial traumas with diverse groups. I’m eager to work alongside children, adolescents, adults, and families of color in meeting their mental health aspirations, goals, and needs.
My Background and Approach
I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. My experience comes from community settings focused on past and ongoing trauma, life transitions, complex mental diagnoses endured by children, adults, and families. I’ve practiced therapy in multi-disciplinary, community settings, including the medical, educational, and the child welfare systems. I have an integrative approach that incorporates a range of modalities including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and nature psychology which are all informed by trauma and a cultural lens.
