Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an approach to psychotherapy that identifies and addresses multiple sub-personalities or families within each person’s mental system. IFS therapy is used to treat individuals, couples, and families. It is an evidence-based approach that has been shown to be effective for treating a variety of conditions and their symptoms, such as depression, anxiety and eating disorders. The goal is to free the parts of their extreme roles and begin to lead with your true self.
I am level 1 and 2 trained in EMDR. I have used EMDR to relieve psychological distress for variety of different issues from past trauma of sexual abuse, and to address the underlying issues of depression, anxiety and eating disorders.
The goals of the Gottman Method include increasing closeness and friendship behaviors, addressing conflict productively, and building a life of shared meaning together. Couples who function effectively treat each other with consideration, and are supportive of each other. The Gottman Method is dedicated to combining wisdom from research and practice to support and strengthen marriages, families, and relationships.
