About My Clients
Dr. Ugwuede has worked with various patient populations experiencing mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders. She has international public health experience working in Nigeria, local public health nursing experience working with county health departments, and community mental health experience collaborating with FQHC and integrated health agencies.
My Background and Approach
Dr. Ugwuede has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loma Linda University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rush University. She incorporates psychodynamic and humanistic therapy during medication management appointments. Dr. Ugwuede values patient-centered care, educating patients about their diagnosis and medication, and creating a therapeutic alliance with patients to work collaboratively in order to create optimal treatment plans.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Dr. Ugwuede believes that each person is much more than their diagnosis and with a combination of medication and therapy can achieve a better quality of life. She is passionate about the mental health of first and second generation children of immigrants, Black mental health, human rights, and health policy.
