About My Clients
I serve teens and adults with a variety of struggles. Sometimes, it's just a general sense that "somethings not quite right." You may feel disconnected from yourself, others, and the world around you. Perhaps you feel constantly on edge or scared, unable to be present in your experiences and relationships. Together, we can work toward creating an authentic and aligned way of life that feels beautiful to you. My office is an LGBTQIA+ affirming space.
My Background and Approach
I have experience working with adults, teens, and children who’ve experienced domestic and sexual violence, those struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, low self-esteem and relationship issues, and folks who’ve struggled with addiction. Many of my clients work toward acknowledging and grieving the past so moving forward feels possible. I know counseling can be scary. This is why we move slowly and intentionally, making sure counseling doesn't just feel hard. There are moments of joy and celebration in healing too. My approach to working with clients is trauma-informed and client-led. I utilize internal family systems, EMDR, attachment-focused therapy, mindfulness and presence, and somatic approaches to promote inner healing and nervous system regulation. I tailor therapeutic interventions to what individual clients need. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, together we will work to find the right balance to foster growth and change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to create a space that feels affirming and safe. The therapeutic environment is a place to process not just past wounds and present concerns but the social, community, physical, and spiritual aspects of our lives too. These are all important parts of what make us human. We all deserve a space to feel unconditionally seen and heard. We will work together to reach this goal, making sure you feel like an active member of the therapy process. You are the expert in your life and experiences, I'm just along for the ride. Things that make me feel like myself: My dog and cat (Reuben and Hazel), gardening, swimming in mountain lakes and streams, a good fantasy book, and cooking for my friends and family.
