Working as a therapist in high schools was an eye-opening, and very rewarding, experience, and I bring that experience to my private practice. Adolescents today face unprecedented stressors and navigate worlds that are hugely challenging for developing minds. But adolescence is also a rich time in which so much joy and growth occurs. I love to work with adolescent girls who are finding their place in the world.

I am a parent myself, and know how rewarding and challenging the life of a parent can be. I integrate my own experience as a parent, and my experience as a school counselor and therapist for children and teens to help parents better understand their kid's behavior and to communicate with them effectively. I have helped many parents work through their own childhood wounds affecting how they parent (and feel about being a parent!), learn effective communication skills, and find joy in parenting.

I have experience working with women of all ages, and love to help women (and girls!) through the concerns they are facing at all stages of development. Each woman's journey is different, but all women face systemic pressures that affect them personally. I love to help women contextualize the their own concerns within these systemic pressures, and help them navigate their world in ways that work for them.

Person-centered therapy is centered on the belief that you, as a client, have vast internal resources that can lead you on a path to growth, and my job as a therapist is to create the conditions that allow you to access them. I believe in this approach as a foundation for all that I do, even when I am integrating other modalities (such as solution-focused or art therapy). I taught this approach and communication skills to counselors-in-training at Saint Mary's College of California.
