About My Clients
If you're feeling stuck or overwhelmed, you don't have to walk alone. My passion is to partner with individuals and couples. Together, we will slow down what feels overwhelming. I have an unique interest in helping individuals and couples with perinatal and birth trauma. When trauma occurs during pregnancy, the birth process, or afterwards, it can complicate our relationships. I help individuals and families learn to support one another through transition and losses.
My Background and Approach
Hi, I'm Amberlee. I've worked in both nonprofit & private practice settings. My specific training is in attachment, relationships, and trauma. I am trained in Theraplay, Emotionally Focused Therapy, & EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). I use Emotionally Focused Therapy with couples & individuals. Trainings I've completed include: Externship, Core Skills, other advanced trainings, and engaged in supervision. In EFT we examine the patterns where you get stuck both as an individual and in relationships with others. EMDR is the approach I use to help survivors of trauma regain their balance and reduce distressing symptoms. I'm level 2 trained, including advanced trainings (e.g. Flash Protocol), & take part in ongoing consultation. When working with the perinatal/postpartum population, specific training is essential. I've completed the Postpartum Support International 2020 Mom Professional Maternal Mental Health Certificate & engage in ongoing consultation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that connection is the key that helps us to heal, thrive, and continue to grow. My goal is to provide an environment that is encouraging and nurturing to clients as they bravely take the risk of stepping into vulnerability. I also highly value my clients goals for seeking treatment and collaborate with them in making a plan for treatment.
