About My Clients

You could benefit from my services if: - You have experienced big T and little t traumas in your life - You have difficulty saying “no” or setting boundaries - You struggle with depression, low mood, or poor self-esteem - You have a hard time dealing with your anxiety - You want to address avoidance in your life - The way you’ve always dealt with things isn’t working anymore - You notice an disconnect between how you feel and what you think

My Background and Approach

As a counselor, I will meet you where you are at and help you to plot a path of steps forward. We don’t go anywhere that you’re not ready to go, and I’ll be with you as long as your journey takes. As we’re mapping things out, we talk about your history and what has brought you here. We look at the present to add any skills that you need to get you and keep you stable throughout the day. We'll explore how your past has affected your present, too. Some ways I can help you grow in the present include: Teaching you about boundaries and how to set them Learning relaxation skills and self-care Exploring healthy communication skills Increasing your awareness of your "blinders" that are holding you back Guiding you to take a look at your emotions and reactions from a third-person perspective And, of course, we look just briefly into the future – your goals and how you’d like your life to be different. And, only when you are ready, then we approach the trauma. Together.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

One of my biggest personal beliefs is that "Every step forward is a step forward." So often, we set our expectations for ourselves too high, and when we're not able to reach X goal in Y time, we beat ourselves up. However, I believe that every step forward, no matter how "big" or "small," is a step forward to be celebrated. You can read more about my professional and personal philosophies on my website (find the link below!). When I’m not in the office, you can usually find me at home, at my desk, playing video games, writing, or chatting with friends on Discord. I’m usually playing a metroidvania, Souls-like, or a farming-sim type of game. There’s a pretty good chance that I’m spending time with one of my three dogs, Jojo, Dally, and Winry. You might even find me at a lake or a river with my tackle box, waiting for my bobber to move or losing a lure or two in the rocks.
