About My Clients
As your therapist, I work to build an atmosphere that’s rooted in safety, openness, and mutual respect, in which you feel heard and understood. I am currently completing training in EMDR through the Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy, an approach that can help reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic experiences over time.
My Background and Approach
You know things need to change. Maybe it's a nagging feeling, or a wave of overwhelm that washes over you sometimes. Taking the first step to reach out for therapy can feel daunting, but I'm here to walk alongside you in your journey toward the change you want in your life. This might look like skill-building, emotional (re)processing, or a mix of both. Whether you are seeking relief from the impact of traumatic experiences, struggling with mental health concerns like anxiety or depression, or need support navigating life transitions (grief & loss, heartbreak, a new job), I’m committed to working with you to create positive and sustainable change in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that no matter where you’re starting from—transformation is possible. I am a licensed and board-certified therapist. I also train and supervise student therapists as a college professor. In addition to sharing my mental health expertise in media outlets such as Forbes and the Associated Press, I actively teach, publish, and conduct research on mental health topics.
