About My Clients
I enjoy working with young adults, adults, and couples on a wide range of issues impacting well-being including, but not limited to, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, grief, bullying, self-esteem, body image, career exploration, sports performance, or just feeling "stuck" and dissatisfied with one’s direction in life.
My Background and Approach
My passion for counseling developed from my own battle with chronic migraines and pain, anxiety, confidence, childhood bullying, and divorce. I’m familiar with navigating careers and the workplace as a former IT consultant and program manager in the fast-paced corporate world and I have experience with sports performance as a former collegiate athlete and triathlete I use a person-centered approach as my foundation and tailor the treatment plan and counseling approach to each unique client and their needs, drawing from tenets of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), DBT, EMDR, internal family systems (IFS), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and motivational interviewing. As an experienced yoga teacher trained in advanced yoga therapeutics (E-RYT 200, RYT 500, YACEP), I utilize the mind-body practice of yoga and mindfulness as an adjunct treatment. I believe animals can enhance and complement the benefits of traditional therapy and work with my co-therapist Archer Ash, a Labrador retriever.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, practicing yoga, strength training, cooking, gardening, hiking, playing sand volleyball, traveling, or curled up with my dogs and a good book.
