About My Clients

I work with children, adolescents/teens, and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, grief, behavioral issues, low self-esteem, body image, navigating relationships (including non-monogamy), life transitions, co-parenting, gender identity, sexuality, and sexual dysfunction. I utilize sex-positive and affirmative counseling practices with all clients, especially LGBTQIA+ individuals and their families. I am passionate about the intersection of mental and physical health

My Background and Approach

I provide individual, family, and group therapy using an attachment-focused, strengths-based, client-centered approach and place high value on the therapeutic relationship to generate change. I operate from a body positive, sex positive, Health At Every Size, social justice, anti-oppression, and allyship framework. We will work together to collaboratively develop treatment goals to help you reach maximum growth and healing so you can craft and live your best life possible. I take an eclectic approach to therapy and always meet my clients where they are at to create a safe space; knowing that not one type of therapy process will fit all clients. Some of the theories and techniques that I have extensive training in and utilize are: Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, Attachment Focused therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, sex therapy, creative and expressive arts, mindfulness, and other treatment modalities.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My mission is to provide affirming, celebratory, anti-oppressive counseling to all my clients, but especially my clients who are BIPOC, queer, gender-expansive, in non-traditional relationships, and/or have chronic health conditions or disabilities. Our personhood and intersectional identities are always with us. It’s impossible to fully separate the personal from the professional. Therefore my practice works out of the belief that therapy is political on purpose. I believe that as counselors we have an obligation to dismantle systems of oppression that ourselves and our clients are forced to live under and that starts in our work together. I not only welcome but celebrate all the “stuff” that comes with my clients’ identities and I will work within my professional role and in my personal life to advocate for the needs of my clients living in marginalized communities. Which is why I operate from a fat positive, sex positive, social justice, anti-oppression, and allyship framework.
