About My Clients
My clients are adults often grieving the death loss of a loved one and are struggling to accept this loss and how to move forward. My clients are also grieving in other ways, such as mourning the living - when a parent or loved one cannot show up in the capacity needed. And very often, part of most people's journey is (re)discovering who they are, and navigating their identity after death, trauma, or significant life change such as parenting.
My Background and Approach
Transformation is inevitable when clients are willing to explore areas of themselves that are rarely discussed or uncovered. I spent over a decade working with children and it greatly informs the way I provide therapy to my current adult clients. Often there is messaging around what emotions are ok vs not ok to express growing up and we spend a lot of time reconnecting the brain and the body for adults to feel they are living a life as their most authentic selves, even after loss, disappointment, trauma, etc. Throughout therapy, my focus is strength based with a trauma focused lens, with elements of CBT. The mind body connection is incredibly important throughout everyone’s journey, as family/social/societal messaging often encourages the separation between the mind and body, causing a lot of anxiety, discomfort, and overall incongruence within oneself. Therapy is a space to untangle all of that, go at your own pace, and grieve the pieces of your story that need healing.
