About My Clients
If you're feeling stifled, tired, and frustrated with life and relationships, welcome! I enjoy working with people who want to find a way to make their hardships more manageable. So many people feel responsible and blame themselves for the hardships that life has thrown at them, but it's not your fault that life and relationships are hard! If you're looking to challenge your status quo and break patterns that are keeping you stuck, I would love to support you in making a positive change.
My Background and Approach
My clinical experience started in substance abuse. I then moved into family therapy, working with the whole family in a very structured format, before transitioning to private practice. I've worked with children, adults, groups, individuals, and couples. I have completed Level I Gottman training for couples therapy, as well as Phase I of Brainspotting for trauma treatment. I am strengths-based, and work from an attachment-focused approach. I am a "root-of-the-problem" kind of person, with a compassionate, yet direct POV. I fiercely support and advocate for my clients, while also fostering the ability to do the same for yourself. Many of us have had foundational experiences in life that have led to a breakdown in communication, unmet needs in relationships, and struggles with parents/parenting. You deserve support and emotional wellbeing. Therapy is hard work, but I'm here to hold space for all the stuff that has gotten too heavy for you to carry alone!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all people are inherently valuable and worthy. I am passionate about advocating for marginalized communities, including women, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC. I previously volunteered at the Women's Resource Center in Hickory, serving women struggling with difficult life transitions, including divorce, homelessness, DV, and pregnancy-related concerns. I want my clients to feel safe with me. Despite any physical or lived differences we may have, I am willing to hold space for and learn about my client's specific lived experiences to better show up in support of their needs.
