About My Clients
My practice is focused on improving mental health outcomes for Black/POC professionals who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, mood dysregulation, and thoughts of suicide due to the effects of toxic workplace environments. I work to help my clients develop an understanding of the impact of structural racism on their work experiences, understand their mental health symptoms, and utilize evidence-based techniques to improve the quality of their lives.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is holistic, person-centered, and strengths-based. I draw from a variety of evidence-based practices to create a tailored experience for each of my clients, grounding my approach in psychodynamic and cognitive/behavioral theories. I teach my clients how to use their innate skills and tools to challenge and change their harmful thoughts and behaviors, improve their emotional regulation, and develop the essential coping strategies needed to target their current problems. I also help my clients to develop a deeper understanding of how their development influences their presenting issues. My laid-back, patient, and non-judgmental counseling style creates a therapeutic space where my clients feel safe, supported, and heard. I believe that my clients are the experts in their own lives and work collaboratively with them to clarify their goals for treatment.
