About My Clients
Wanting a safe space to talk? A confidential place to process things from the past, handle stress in the present, and plan for things in the future? I have worked with clients of all ages (I have a a special interest and experience with young adults) deal with issues such as anxiety management, trauma resolution, relationship issues, and self-esteem.
My Background and Approach
I feel that a collaborative environment helps people get what they want. I focus on insight, attachment focused, and body focused therapy approaches that explore how patterns of the past may be contributing to the present difficulty. I then like to identify measurable, achievable goals directed as resolution and healing. This often takes the form of learning new coping skills, processing past trauma, or finding new ways to relate to your body/internal experience. You will gain experience being in safe space to truly allow yourself to "be". A non-judgmental environment where we can lay problems out together and approach them head on. I have specific training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to address self-injurious behavior, suicidality, and emotional dysregulation
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I humans are geared to adaption and reliance. Sometimes, experiences or patterns in our past can teach us ways of coping, adapting, or relating that can be problematic or unhealthy. I am a therapist with a therapist! Someone who understands that having a space to explore, in a non-judgmental way is an invaluable tool to being the healthiest, happiest version of yourself. I operate from a stance of cultural humility where I am open and curious to learning about the various identities and experiences that make you, you. I am a Chicago sports fan. I enjoy any activity that gets the body moving in healthy ways. I read philosophy in my free time. Reach out if you want to learn more about how we can work together towards the goal of psychological health.
