About My Clients
I am a licensed therapist working with adults with significant mental health issues including depression, trauma/PTSD, bipolar, psychosis, substance use, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and/or loneliness. Many of my clients are or have also experienced homelessness/unstable housing, limited support systems, hospitalizations, criminal charges, or have a history of incarceration and involvement in the legal system.
My Background and Approach
I seek to help people recognize the good in themselves, gain insight regarding their life story and what is important to them. Together, we work on skills to improve their mental health and overall wellbeing, and strategies to achieve the life they want for themselves. I use a blend of various modalities and adjust my skills to each person's need and style.I have significant experience in crisis work and comfortable supporting individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, self-harm, impulsivity, psychosis, and mania. Our work together often includes processing trauma, understanding the impact of life experiences and identities on one's journey, and making progress towards the life they want to live.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I practice with compassion, care, understanding, and without judgement. I am fully supportive of the LGBTQIA community, committed to practicing with a sex positive approach, gender affirming therapy, and helping individuals through their identity journey. I am committed to cultural humility and supporting racial justice, criminal justice, and social justice. I firmly believe in a working relationship founded in collaboration and openness.
