About My Clients
My social work career has included advocacy for victims of domestic violence, clinical treatment of eating disorders, and general outpatient mental health counseling with individuals, couples and families. During our sessions, I like to focus less on the label and more on how your symptoms are affecting you and what you’d like to be different.
My Background and Approach
I use several different evidence-based treatments to guide and support my clients in the therapy process, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered Therapy--to name a few. I have expertise in the areas of domestic violence, trauma, and eating disorders, as well as anxiety and depression.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person is the expert of their own life and has the ability to both accept and change what will give them a life worth living, and I strive to help each individual see their unique strengths. I also believe that therapy is a collaborative effort between the client and the therapist, and I will provide a safe and supportive environment to feel, share and grow.
