About My Clients
My clients are typically adults who are going through life transitions and need some support.
My Background and Approach
Amanda is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in both Illinois and Georgia. Amanda has trainings, education and professional experiences that prepare her to specialize in perinatal mental health and sex therapy with individuals and couples. Amanda provides psychotherapy from a multicultural, LGBTQ+ affirmative lens. Amanda focuses on adults 18+ managing general mental health concerns including sexual health, intimacy concerns, life transitions, gender identity, sexual orientation, depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, maternal mental health, grief and loss and infertility. Amanda primarily utilizes mindfulness, EMDR, family systems approach, cognitive behavioral therapy and strength-based perspective in treatment. Amanda hopes to create a safe therapeutic environment to empower clients to grow through education, honesty and resiliency.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy is an amazing process that allows for you to truly explore your struggles and strengths and allows for you to learn to be honest and truthful to yourself. I love to build on my client’s strengths and act as a good sounding board to help them process through their concerns. Allowing for them to feel supported by being honest with themselves, is a key to being motivated to do the hard work and grow as an individual. Therapy is one of many tools in our toolbox that we can build together.
