About My Clients
While I love to help individuals in all life stages, my specialties include helping teens in the life transition period from High School to College, and Post-College transitioning into Young Adulthood. I also specialize in those struggling primarily with relationship issues whether they be familial, romantic, or social, adults trying to discern their career path, business owners or entrepreneurs, and those currently working through divorce or post-divorce.
My Background and Approach
My background in Kinesiology and strength training are what fueled my decision to pursue a career in Counseling. I began my graduate training in 2014 at Dallas Theological Seminary before transferring to SMU and graduating in 2018. I have worked in a variety of settings, both inpatient and outpatient, as well as crisis and community services. The mind-body connection is a powerful one and in my opinion, usually underestimated. My goal is to help you increase your awareness and understanding of what doesn't work for you and figure out what it might take to help get you where you want. I would love the opportunity to work with you to help you identify what you want (sometimes, we're not even sure!), & increase your awareness of who you are, where you came from, & how you can live your most authentic & fulfilled life. While every client deserves a custom approach, I typically begin our time together using attachment, somatic work, and an approach called Internal Family Systems.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a California native, I moved to Dallas 9 years ago to pursue higher education. Most of my free time is spent taking short trips to visit old friends, outdoors in the mountains or at the lake, and of course with my Golden Retriever, Suede. While I am involved in a non-denominational church and have a minor in Biblical Studies, I counsel individuals based on their belief system and not my own. Unless my client requests to be counseled from a faith based perspective, it is not present in our time together. One of my passions continues to be health & fitness and I make sure to not only create time for my own workouts during the week, but I also keep space in my schedule to teach a few breathwork classes and train a few clients individually.
