My Background and Approach
I specialize in EMDR therapy for trauma, PTSD, and cancer-related distress. Trauma often wires in negative beliefs about ourselves. EMDR helps identify and reprocess the memories that keep those beliefs stuck. As the brain heals, beliefs shift: "I'm powerless" becomes "I can handle this." My work focuses on lasting change, not just symptom relief.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
If you think you "should be over it by now," you are not alone. Trauma impacts the nervous system in ways that don't resolve through willpower. The beliefs you carry make sense in light of what you have survived. You are not broken. Your brain has adapted to protect you in a way that is no longer serving you. Healing means updating those beliefs so they no longer define you and you can find freedom to live you life to the fullest.
