About My Clients
After working inpatient for 10 years, I was able to gain experience with a wide variety of clients. I have worked with ages 5 years old all the way to our elder adults. My clients typically have trauma as a driving force to their presenting problem, although it's the depression, anxiety, family dynamics, or behavioral concerns that usually get them to talk to me. I have worked in outpatient for the past few years and really enjoy the process of helping clients in their day to day lives.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and LPC Supervisor. I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2016 with my Masters of Science in Community Counseling. I mainly have worked inpatient with clients ranging from 5-95 years old. I have been able to work with clients in the most acute of settings and at their most vulnerable moments. Over the past few years, I have focused on reaching people before they reach the acute setting. I have enjoyed getting to know clients and work with them in a more laid-back environment. This is a judgement free, openminded, safe space for clients to work through any problems they are experiencing. I have a lot of experience with family therapy and group therapy as well.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I personally believe that access to appropriate resources are essential to the overall well-being of a society. That means mental health treatment! It is time that we stop treating mental health as optional and understand that as humans our minds and feelings drive everything we do in life. I got into this field to help others and will continue to set an example by offering affordable, accessible services. I am a big advocate of giving back and I do give back to youth programs in my area by volunteering as one of the baseball/softball coordinators. I stand with the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives. I am a big advocate of equality for all and support the LGBTQ community.
