Relationships are such a large part of the human experience, and this is often the subject matter that comes up the most in my therapy sessions. I will offer support, validation, interpersonal and communication strategies, as well as other exploratory and skills approaches to help you improve or sever relationships in your life. I also value the therapeutic relationship as an important and helpful way to explore relationship content.

Anxiety is a healthy and normal emotion, however sometimes our alarm systems can become overactive. First I will work with you to identify and address what is causing excessive anxiety, and then work to treat the root cause as well as providing management strategies to help your anxiety align with external circumstances. The goal isn't to banish anxiety, but rather to calibrate our anxiety to our life in a way that feels helpful and effective.

I am trained in trauma processing therapy (EMDR) which can be really effective in treating PTSD. There are other approaches that can be effective in working with post traumatic stress that we can also explore. I can provide distress tolerance, emotion regulation skills, among other interventions to help significantly reduce symptoms and enhance overall well-being.

I am trained in level 1 EMDR and can work with processing and integrating traumatic and disturbing experiences so that they no longer interfere and negatively affect your life. EMDR is a commitment and process so we can discuss the best way to approach the treatment to fit your goals and needs.

I am comprehensively trained in DBT, and offer both DBT-informed therapy as well as comprehensive DBT (if you are also involved with a skills group). I am also part of DBT team that I meet with weekly to discuss case content and I work with collaboratively. If you have a Borderline Personality Disorder diagnosis, or generally struggle with emotion regulation and relationships, we can explore if DBT might be a good fit for you.
