About My Clients
Are you struggling with racing thoughts, a sense of panic, worrying about things that seem silly to worry about? What about no motivation, feeling hopeless or nightmares and/or flashbacks about the past? Do you find yourself using alcohol or any other substance to cope with what you find yourself struggling with? If any of the above sounds like you, and you are here reading this, I am so PROUD of you for taking the step to seek help because let's face it, admitting you need help is hard.
My Background and Approach
I have always been drawn to helping others and understanding how the mind works. I fell into the human services field out of high school, when I was hired at a homeless shelter, and have been in the field in various roles since while working through college. As a therapist, I found my passion in helping to empower others to make changes in their life using their own strengths. I have worked for a non-profit agency for eight years, and currently work in a mental health program with individuals with mental health/substance abuse. Substance abuse counseling has always been an interest and passion of mine, as I have family members who have a history of use. I value the times I am able to empower others to pursue their path to sobriety because I have seen how truly difficult that path is. I am kind, compassionate, open-minded, and honest. I value holding space for your story and what you need to talk about.
