About My Clients
I work best with adults experiencing depression, PTSD, substance use, personality disorders, and mood disorders. I’m passionate about LGBTQIA+-affirming care, supporting individuals navigating identity, trauma, or life transitions. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive space for personal growth, combining evidence-based techniques like CBT and DBT with holistic, personalized approaches to meet each client’s unique needs.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John’s University. I specialize in treating adults with acute and persistent mental illnesses, including depression, PTSD, psychosis, mood disorders, substance use disorders, and personality disorders. My training includes trauma-informed care, mindfulness, CBT, DBT skills, and psychological assessments such as the MMPI-2 and Big Five Inventory. I have both inpatient and outpatient experience and a particular focus on LGBTQIA+ issues and gender-affirming care. My approach is eclectic, holistic, and tailored to meet each client's needs, fostering healing and empowerment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value creating a safe, welcoming space where clients feel understood and supported. As someone passionate about LGBTQIA+ issues, I advocate for inclusivity and gender-affirming care, ensuring every client feels respected. My work is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and personalized care. Outside of therapy, I enjoy playing soccer, hiking, powerlifting, and diving into fantasy novels. These activities fuel my belief in balance and self-care. I’m inspired by my clients’ resilience and honored to be part of their journey toward growth. I also support causes promoting mental health awareness and inclusivity, aiming to make therapy accessible and stigma-free for all.
