About My Clients

You’ve been staring at your to-do list for half an hour and still haven’t made a bit of progress. You’re not sure when everything became so complicated. Even the things you used to enjoy have turned into overwhelming obstacles. You see the people around you being productive, socializing, and making progress in their lives. Meanwhile, you feel stuck in place, like the world is passing you by.

My Background and Approach

Don’t give up! Let me provide you with a warm, safe, nonjudgmental space where you can learn to let go of the negative beliefs about yourself you’ve developed. We’ll create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs, informed by strategies of attachment theory and EMDR. Together, let’s rediscover your path in life so you can move forward with purpose. Learn to accept every aspect of yourself. Embrace your individuality and listen to your inner guide. Create more meaningful connections in your relationships with others and yourself. You don’t have to do this alone. Let’s work together to reclaim your hope for the future and joy in the present.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that healing is always possible. Whether your issues are new or you have trauma going back to early childhood, I believe that you have better days ahead. It can be difficult to have hope when you are going through difficult times. I believe it is my job as your therapist to hold hope for you until you are ready to hold it for yourself. I believe in bringing my whole self into the therapy office. Over the years I’ve been a teacher, full time mother of five, a volunteer leader in the nonprofit world, an advocate for children living in foster care and institutions, a mentor to parents considering or completing an international adoption, and currently a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland and a Nationally Board-Certified Counselor. With decades of life experiences, I am able to provide a level of empathy that helps my clients feel seen, heard, and understood. All are welcome at Nest. I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming and antiracist therapist.
