About My Clients
I have an LPC with a BSc (Hons) in Psychological Studies in Singapore and an MA in Mental Health Counseling at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS). I am also a certified Illinois Domestic Violence Professional (ICVP). I have experience working with children, teens, adults, adults, parents, and families.
My Background and Approach
A typical counseling session may look like processing past hurts and messages clients have learned and transforming them in such a way that brings healing and long-lasting change in the present. I aim to meets clients where they are at and plan treatment approaches based on their needs. My priority is the counseling relationship and the client's well-being.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to help clients build awareness about themselves and their coping styles. My hope is that clients can see themselves through a positive and healthy lens, as individuals who are capable of achieving much despite the challenges that they face. Together, my clients and I will work through any trauma faced and process the effects of things that have or are happening in their lives. If clients are eager and willing to work at change, healing can come at a much 'faster' pace. I also aim to coach clients in learning how to be balanced in their doing and being, such as maintaining work-life balance and making time for adequate self-care as well.
