About My Clients

Are you frustrated with your inability to control your emotions, anxiety, relationship or something else? Do you often get so overwhelmed you can't focus, sit down or relax? I know the feeling, and you are NOT alone! I believe knowledge is truly power! I will empower you with the information and tools you need to get back in the driver's seat of your mind and life!

My Background and Approach

I obtained a Bachelor’s of Psychology, with a minor in Child and Family Development, as well as a Master’s of Social Work, both from The University of Akron. My style is holistic and integrative, meaning I treat each person as an individual in order to direct their treatment process. I utilize strategies from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Systems and Attachment Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Energy Psychology, Somatic Experiencing, Aromatherapy, and Trauma Informed Care. I am trained in the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) and focus the basis of my practice teaching clients about the mind-body connection - relating physical and mental health symptoms. I feel the most joy when I see my clients intuitively begin to pay attention to their bodies, and managing their symptoms on their own with tools and skills learned in our sessions.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My personal life story provided numerous experiences for me to learn who I wanted to really be when I grew up. Looking back at old childhood drawings and writings, it was apparent I was being prepared for this work. I had several options when I was considering graduate programs - Social Work spoke to me the most due to the values of empowerment, advocacy and right to self-determination, just to name a few. I am continuously engaging in all the educational opportunities I can in order to be knowledgeable about the clients I serve. Some of these topics I am passionate to continue building competency with are: LGBTQ+, Black Lives Matter and BIPOC communities.
