Aside from being a human surrounded and impacted by other humans on a daily basis, I have a large family system, previous involvement in romantic relationships, and have navigated changing friendship dynamics over my years, and it's all of these experiences that help me to feel qualified in working with relational issues.

If you're reading this, it means you've learned how to attach to others to make it this far in your life just as I have, and that is a wonderful feat of accomplishment! As an EFT therapist, I work with attachment strategies within individuals to help understand and navigate their inner worlds while always giving emotions room to be expressed and felt in the here and now. Attachment is a means of survival, but it can also be about thriving when properly healed.

Meant to access trauma that words can't reach, a "brainspot" is located most often by using clients' eyesight as they fixate on an external object. The goal is to reduce nervous system reactivity so that reprocessing can take place while safety is strengthened. Safety must be established before working with the trauma so as to not retraumatize. Emotional attunement between therapist and client is a key component for an effective process.

From the beginning, the way we learned to connect with our caregivers in early life shapes how we relate and connect to others as adults. There are 4 broad categories of attachment. When I work with clients, it's important for me to remember that attachment is a strategy and not a style, meaning it ebbs and flows depending on the relationship and circumstances. It's not about blame but understanding the patterns and reshaping them which can lead to healthier relationships.
