About My Clients

Is it just me, or does parenting feel like your spinning plates and no matter what you do, you can't keep them all going? Maybe you're having scary or intrusive thoughts about your baby that you're hesitant to share with others? Its more common than you think. Are you going through the motions of the day, feeling burnt out? Lets get you back on track. Do you feel held back by your childhood experiences, like you don't know how to adult? There is healing and skills you can learn!

My Background and Approach

I help by providing a collaborative and solution-oriented approach, empowering individuals to find peace and balance in their lives. I’m trained in EMDR (including a specialization for children), Trauma Focused-CBT, and trauma-sensitive yoga. I'm using evidence-based techniques and checking in with you consistently saying, is this working for you? Some clients want to leave the past behind and keep going; I can help with that. For others who want to dive deeper and find long term healing, my goal is to help them believe in their heart what they know in their brain. I'm worthy. I'm capable. I'm safe. I did the best I could. I'm a good mom. In our first few sessions, you can expect a comfortable environment to get to know your goals for therapy. Clients describe me as warm, solution-oriented, and empowering. They often feel relief at the end of session, gain insight about themselves, and learn new ways of approaching problems. I hope to give you the warmth of a friend with added wisdom.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Even with all of my training, becoming a mom showed me what anxiety really feels like. I know what its like to have scary thoughts, worry if I'm doing a good job, and sweat all of the little details of parenting and lose sight of the big picture. I'm practicing self-compassion now and so can you. For first responders, I know what vicarious trauma feels like. I know how it feels to question, did I do enough? It's a hard line to walk staying passionate about your job and giving it 100% without burning out. I know you need tools to keep going for your community but some experiences really strike you in a way you weren't expecting. I am passionate about this work because I believe everyone deserves to feel joy and experience peace. I don't believe there's just one approach to healing from complex trauma, which is why I'm trained in a variety of approaches to meet you where you're at. I believe that to have integrity you need to walk the walk, which is why I've been to therapy myself.
