About My Clients
I am an LMHC therapist with my Masters of Science in developmental psychology from Nova Southeastern University. My specialty and experience is working with adults, children and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, coping skills, ADHD, trauma, childhood/teen disorders, immigration evaluations, and transitions in life. I have successfully helped thousands of clients restore their mental health, balance, and happiness. I’m dedicated to helping you unlock your full potential.
My Background and Approach
I was born in Brazil and raised in the United States. Family is very important to me, and I try my best to help other families strive! My mom is my daily inspiration. She has managed to conquer life’s tragedies with a strong heart and a smile. She has definitely guided my path. My true passion is to help you navigate through life’s challenges in a safe space that promotes healing and renewal. My goal as your therapist is to support you every step of the way within your process and to use the best approaches that meet your needs. My preference is to use positive psychology approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, existential therapy, and brief-solution focused therapy. My techniques are not a “ one size fits all model, very personalized, holistic, and spiritually focused, and research-based to improve emotional and behavioral conditions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
For over 10 years, my comprehensive experience in education, community-based counseling services, and private settings have enabled me to successfully treat: anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, bullying, LGBTQ concerns, improving relationships, and divorce. My passion to help families and children strive started in the education system as a teacher for children with autism. As a teacher, I helped families facing major difficulties to feel supported and understood. It has been my true calling to be an educator, motivator, and a therapist for those facing life’s adversities. Through my own journey with depression and anxiety, I remember how difficult it was to truly understand what I was going through; I didn’t want to “bother anyone” and felt completely alone, but you don’t have to! In my opinion, there are not enough places for people to be vulnerable, breathe, and to fully feel accepted without judgment. I welcome my clients with genuineness and openness to be themselves.
