My Background and Approach
I practice as a full protocol DBT therapist and am also skilled in CBT. I am excited to offer Individual DBT for the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder and PTSD, as well as offer CBT for Depression and Anxiety. My goal is to help you get towards your life worth living! I work with family, friends, and partners of people with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and people with Borderline Personality Disorder traits – educating them on the diagnosis, skills that can be used to help in effectively managing BPD symptoms, interpersonal effectiveness skills to improve their relationships, and ways to cope and preserve their sanity with their loved one. I also offer Parent Coaching for adolescents in the full DBT Program in our practice. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I grew up knowing that I wanted a career where I could use my empathetic nature for the greater good, and my ability to sit with another through their pain to help them to build their life worth living. My career as a clinical social worker is doing just that. I use my past experiences, continuoulsy growing knowledge, and tenacious empathy to guide and support others through their challenges. Rather than simply sitting and listening, I teach evidence-based skills to clients so that they can create and maintain the life they long for. I am also a member of the LGBTQIA community and offer a judgment-free, welcoming, and affirming environment for my clients. I am cognizant of the struggles faced by this community and offer guidance and support through first-hand experience.
