About My Clients
My clients know they want to make changes but they are hesitant because they fear harming other people's feelings, worry about making the right decision, and feel stuck. At RFC, the offices are set up like someone's living room. We want our clients to feel physically, as well as, emotionally comfortable as they make changes in their lives.
My Background and Approach
I am dually licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. In additional to treating clients directly, I also supervise graduates after they have completed their masters degrees. I treat general mental health, as well as specialize in self harm behaviors, grief, and substance use. I truly enjoy working with teens and young adults because I understand how much pressure is on them to perform in this time of their lives. My approach is pretty simple, I'm a regular person who listens to and guides regular people towards the lives they want, versus the lives they currently have. Although I have lots of training, ultimately my relationship with my clients goes farther than any technique I've been taught in school.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe when people feel heard and supported, they can make healthy decisions for themselves and the people they love. People who come into my office often don't feel heard or supported by society, their friends, and family because those people are also struggling with their own invisible pains. When expectations and judgement are cleared out of the relationship, like the ones I have with my clients, we are able to fully explore their dreams, preferences, and pains.
