About My Clients
I work primarily with people struggling with perinatal mental health, such as anxiety and depression during stages of infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, pregnancy loss, grieving, or having a pregnancy after loss. I also specialize in working with people who are processing issues of identity within their intercultural (i.e., interracial or interfaith) relationship. I particularly enjoy working with folks around the intersection of both of these issues, either individually or in couples therapy.
My Background and Approach
It's hard to find relief from anxiety, but a warm and curious therapeutic experience can help. After graduating from Columbia University School of Social Work, I received post-graduate training from the Ackerman Institute for the Family, which teaches a relational form of therapy that encourages therapists-in-training to think about the bigger picture affecting clients. This has deeply informed my work, and I have been able to combine this approach with additional behavioral therapy training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am currently completing the training requirements from Postpartum Support International in order to receive certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C). I work from an anti-racist and anti-oppressive lens. I strive to continually challenge and explore my own biases outside of session in order to maintain a warm and welcoming space in session.
